What Is Thai Yoga Massage & What To Expect

Picture
What is a Thai Yoga Massage exactly, and what should you expect when you book a Thai Yoga Massage session? The word "massage" can be misleading, as in Western culture we tend to picture a spa-like massage experience involving lotions and lying on a massage table.
Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient form of bodywork practice intended to access the body's meridians to allow for greater energy flow throughout the body.
Thai Yoga Massage combines passive yoga stretches, meditation, palming, and thumbing along the body’s energy lines (meridians).

At the beginning of the session we will do a brief intake in which I'll gather from you the reasons that are bringing you in- perhaps low back pain, greater flexibility, or an all around stretch & relaxation session!

During a Thai Yoga Massage you are fully clothed, so I encourage you to wear comfortable and loose fitting clothing. Instead of being on a table you will be lying on a cushioned mat on the floor.
I will be working within your body's abilities to create various therapeutic positions and stretches. Thai Yoga Massage is also affectionately called "lazy yoga" and incorporates a combination of energy work, assisted yoga postures, and massages techniques. You do not have to be a yogi or "super flexible" to be suitable for a Thai Yoga Massage! This bodywork is accessible to ANY body and ability.
The benefits of this bodywork are numerous and are not limited to the physical benefits you will experience.

Thai Yoga Massage can help you work through trauma, release old or toxic energy patterns, reduce stress, improve digestion, decrease pain, improve sleep quality, and increase mood, and so much more!

I invite you to book a session with me to experience the incredible benefits of Thai Yoga Massage for yourself. I look forward to guiding you on this healing journey!

As a note: Thai Massage is not recommended for some with osteoporosis, acute heart/blood issues (aneurysm or bleeding), skin or fungal dis-ease or other contagious conditions.
