What are you really reaching for when you’re reaching for food?
Emotional eating is not inherently bad or shameful, but is instead a message from your body. It’s your body’s wisdom telling you what it’s in need of in that moment. By reaching for food to cope, we may be missing out on a great opportunity to ride a wave of emotion. It’s amazing how body image insecurities can seemingly come out of nowhere. A smell, a store, a perceived glance- sometimes it can send us into a spiral that was unexpected.
Warmer weather and all that comes with it (more exposed skin, pool parties, beach trips, etc), can have your body image insecurities screaming louder than ever! DREAD. When the sun would descend, my anxiety around food would rise up.
I couldn’t help myself. The pull towards the refrigerator or the pantry was too strong. I absolutely love making this plant-based lasagna. It's perfect any time of year but what I love most about this lasagna is how light and bright the flavors are, which makes it a lovely option when you want lasagna but don't want a super heavy dairy and meat-filled meal.
Enjoy! Balancing hormones is a tricky task, but it's possible! There are many layers to living in flow with your monthly cycles, and nutrition is a huge piece of this puzzle.
Today I'm tackling the topic of gluten and dairy and their role in healthy hormones. March is Endometriosis Awareness Month so you'll be seeing a lot of Endometriosis and hormone balancing posts on social media and here on the blog - I hope you enjoy learning about this topic as much as I love exploring it & explaining it!
